# Open During the New Year

Every time I return to Taoyuan, my late-night snack choice is almost always "Happy Grill." To be honest, even though I live in Tainan, I have never had skewers that are better than this place. It might be a matter of regional taste differences, but I feel like the sauces at Happy Grill are particularly to my liking—salty and fragrant with a hint of sweetness, not overly salty but very flavorful.

If it's your first time there, to showcase the charm of their sauces, I recommend ordering the tofu and sweet potato cakes; these two items are great at absorbing the sauce, and the texture is also very good. Eating them gives a full sensation of sauce flavor. As for the meats, they perform quite well too; they are grilled nicely, and the key is that the sauces are well-prepared. Basically, anything you brush with their sauce becomes delicious.

However, this time I finally encountered a disappointing item: their grilled corn. Priced at 70 NT dollars, I won't even mention the price first; the problem is that it seems almost ungrilled! It tastes like boiled corn drizzled with sauce, lacking the charred aroma, the sauce isn't well absorbed, and the corn is a bit hard—overall, the texture just doesn't work. Of course, the sauce itself is still tasty, but the corn was poorly handled, and no matter how much sauce you apply, it just can't be salvaged.

Originally, it was a five-star rated restaurant, but because of this piece of corn, I’ll give it four stars this time. Everything else is still delicious, but if you go there, just skip the corn.
