I went to a hidden charcoal grill restaurant in Umeda. 🔥

The place is called Charcoal Grill BAR Kokoro Umeda Main Store, located just off the Hankyu Higashidori shopping street in a narrow alley, making it a bit tricky to find. ✨

It’s a hidden gem in a back alley of the Umeda Higashidori shopping district, offering a casual izakaya experience with a focus on charcoal-fired dishes. You can enjoy a variety of carefully curated dishes and approximately 30 kinds of sake. It specializes in seafood cooked over charcoal, and prices are reasonable, starting from around 3,000 yen. 🉐

There are counter seats, table seats, and second-floor seating, providing a wide range of options. ✨

For drinks, we had:

• Autumn grape Kyoho sour 🍇 (650 yen x 2)
• Draft beer 🍺 (580 yen)
• Oolong tea 🐦‍⬛ (450 yen x 2)
  The Kyoho sour, particularly, was very sweet and delicious! 🍇 Although I didn’t drink it this time, I’d recommend trying the various kinds of sake they have. 🍶

We enjoyed some of the restaurant's recommended dishes: ✨

• Two pieces of shibari-tan 🐮 (490 yen x 2)
• Their signature tsukune (cheese, moon view, grated daikon with ponzu, green onion salt) 🐔 (420 yen x 4)
• Assorted fresh sashimi 🐟 (980 yen x 2)
• Charcoal-grilled saba sushi 🍣 (380 yen x 2)
• Mushroom and grilled harami rice dish 🍄‍🟫 (1,880 yen)
• Charcoal grilled chicken and plenty of Ranou egg donburi 🐔 (1,280 yen)
• Mentaiko tonkotsu white soup rolled omelet 🥚 (680 yen)

Shibari-tan 🐮:
It was grilled right in front of us and could be eaten raw. The shibari-tan was topped with plenty of green onion sauce, making it light and delicious! 🐮

Signature tsukune 🐔:
It was a big, fluffy tsukune. 🐔

• Cheese 🧀:
  With a heap of fluffy cheese, it was light and tasty! 🧀
• Moon view 🌕:
  I broke the egg yolk to eat it 🥚. The rich sauce combined with the egg yolk was delicious! 🥚
• Grated daikon with ponzu ✨:
  It was served with plenty of grated daikon and ponzu, topped with myoga and perilla leaves, making it refreshing and tasty! 🍀
• Green onion salt 🧂:
  The rich green onion salt paired well with the light tsukune and was delicious! 🧂

Assorted fresh sashimi 🐟:

• Sea bream 🐟:
  It was fresh, rich, and tasty! 🐟
• Salmon 🐟:
  Rich in fat and delicious! 🐟
• Bonito 🐟:
  It was grilled, rich, and tasty! 🐟
• Sawara 🐟:
  The skin was charred, giving it a fragrant taste, and the fish was fluffy and delicious! 🐟
• Wild octopus 🐙:
  Very tender, rich, and paired well with the green onions served underneath! 🐙

Charcoal-grilled saba sushi 🍣🔥:
The saba sushi was pressed and grilled with hot charcoal right in front of us! 🔥 The grilled surface was aromatic, and the vinegared saba was refreshing, complementing the vinegared rice deliciously! 🍣

Mushroom and grilled harami rice dish 🍄‍🟫🐮:
It was filled with beef harami 🐮, various mushrooms 🍄‍🟫, and sea urchin. ✨ The harami was substantial 🐮, and there were plenty of mushrooms 🍄‍🟫, with crispy bits at the bottom 🔥. It was rich and extremely delicious! 🍚

Charcoal grilled chicken and plenty of Ranou egg donburi 🐔🥚:
I broke the egg yolk to eat it 🥚. The grilled chicken was aromatic 🐔, and the egg was rich and fluffy 🥚, served with plenty of flavorful broth. It was rich and extremely delicious! 🥰

Mentaiko tonkotsu white soup rolled omelet 🥚:
It was brought to us in a hot pot! 🔥 It was a thick tonkotsu broth 🐷 topped with a large rolled omelet filled with mentaiko. ✨ It was very substantial! The tonkotsu broth was rich 🐷, and the rolled omelet was fluffy and soft 🥚. The mentaiko was bursting with flavor and delicious! ✨

All the dishes were delicious, and I was very satisfied!!
