Yongkang Fresh Fish Soup, located on Yongda Road, is a snack eaten by locals. It is not as crowded as other queuing snacks in downtown Tainan, but its performance in terms of the number of Google reviews and ratings is quite high.
This is my first time coming to this store. I have only passed by it before but never stepped in. Since it is fresh fish soup, the meal I ordered this time included fish soup, as well as the must-have pork rice in this kind of snack bar. In addition, I ordered preserved egg tofu as a side dish.
Let’s talk about sea bass soup first. In fact, there are many different types of this kind of fish soup. Some are clear soup, and the soup is clear and transparent. Although the fish soup in this store is also ginger shredded soup, but what about its soup? The color is milky white, and it has been boiled and emulsified. It tastes very sweet and fresh, and there is no fishy smell at all. It can be seen that the freshness and cooking skills are reflected. The fish tastes quite smooth and tender, and I give it a high rating.
In addition, the braised pork rice in this store is also pretty good. The rice is a little bit hard, but I can understand that this is to prevent take-out people from feeling soggy when they eat the braised pork rice. The pork rice is mainly made of fatty meat and has a slightly sticky texture. Sprinkled with white pepper, it can be said to be a perfect match. As for preserved egg tofu, it’s just ordinary preserved egg tofu.
Overall, this is a delicious restaurant, with good performance in all aspects, but it doesn’t feel super amazing. So if you are an outsider who comes to Tainan looking for delicious food, you don’t have to go out of your way to eat there, but if you are in If you are a local, I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner on weekdays.
