It is said to be a famous dumpling shop in Taipei. I also heard that it is a braised meat shop that has been delayed by dumplings. I have heard of the name of this shop many years ago and finally came here to try it today.

Let me start with the conclusion: It’s not bad, but I don’t think it’s so good that I need to queue up!

I arrived at early 6pm on a Sunday night, and there were about a dozen people queuing in front of me. In the end, it took about 20 minutes to get seated.

The air-conditioning in the store is not very cool, and there is a smell that is not very good, which makes you feel uncomfortable and makes you want to finish eating quickly and leave quickly.

For the braised food, we had to order when we were in line, but for the dumplings, we seemed to have to order from the waiter after we were seated, but no one came to ask us. In the end, we felt strange, so we stopped the waiter and told him how many we wanted. As a result, we almost finished the braised food before the dumplings were served. It was our first time to dine and we were really at a loss if we didn’t know how to order.

Braised meat $190 (includes one portion each of shank meat, dried tofu, and tofu skin)
Think the price seems a bit expensive? Although the portion is quite sufficient! The tendon meat is quite tasty, with just the right amount of saltiness. It tastes even better with a little chili oil! I read a lot of reviews saying that the tofu skin is delicious, but when I actually ate it, I thought it was just ordinary and not very special.

Handmade pork dumplings $200 for 25 pieces ($8 for 1 piece)
The dumplings have a lot of soup, similar to soup dumplings. The size of the dumplings is okay, with not too much meat filling, but the seasoning is quite average in my opinion. It’s not a dumpling that I would really want to eat.

Personally, I think the Qiaozhiwei dumplings near Shandao Temple Station seem to be more delicious 😂
