"Bao Xing Tang Hand-Cut Braised Pork Rice and Warm Nourishing Lamb Soup" is located in the Wenshan Muza area, and it seems there is no MRT station nearby, so you might need to ride a bike or use other public transportation.
We came for dinner on Saturday night and were fortunate to be seated immediately without a wait. Many customers started coming in for dine-in or takeout, so the business seems to be quite good.
To get to the conclusion first: the flavors at this restaurant are memorable, and it’s a place I would want to return to the next time I'm in Muza!
For the soup, we ordered the Lamb Slices Soup for $120 and the Lamb Shank Soup for $160.
The soup bases are made with angelica root and various Chinese medicinal herbs, along with lamb bones, simmered according to the restaurant's family secret recipe. I personally found it very sweet and delicious, making it hard not to drink it all in one go.
They give a generous amount of lamb slices without any unpleasant, gamey smell, and the lamb slices are tender. The lamb shank is a standout; I initially thought it would be tough, but it’s actually quite chewy—both soups are highly recommended!
Braised Pork Rice (small) for $40.
If you have some soup, I think the small portion is sufficient to fill you up. The braised pork primarily consists of fatty meat, which I love. It doesn’t feel sticky and the level of saltiness in the braising sauce is just right, making it perfect to eat with the soup. I recommend this for those who enjoy fatty braised pork rice.
If you can handle spicy food, I highly recommend adding a bit of the restaurant's special spicy oil—it really enhances the flavor!
Traditional Flavor Dried Tofu for $35.
Cut into small pieces, it's easy to eat and has a standard taste, but I still recommend adding a bit of spicy oil for an even better experience!
