Location: Xinyi District, Taipei City
Today it suddenly became very cold, and I felt like having pepper pig stomach hotpot. This hotpot restaurant has been on my list, so I immediately made a reservation to eat here. I was a bit worried because there were only two of us. Would we not be able to order enough? 😂 Fortunately, they have medium and large portion sizes, allowing us to enjoy different kinds of meats. It’s a hotpot restaurant that’s friendly for smaller groups. 👍👍
🌟 Pepper Pig Stomach Soup Base
You can customize whether or not to add pepper. I personally love pepper, so I added some. If you’re worried about the spiciness, you can choose not to add it. The soup base is very fragrant and smooth. As soon as it arrived at the table, I immediately drank two bowls of soup. It's really a perfect dish for chilly weather. The pig stomach was well-prepared without any off-flavors, and the chicken didn’t become overly dry from the broth. It was very enjoyable. 😋
🌟 Preserved Meat Clay Pot Rice
Compared to the authentic clay pot rice I had in Hong Kong, I think this version is more suited to Taiwanese tastes. It isn't as salty, and you can customize whether or not to add cilantro and crispy rice, which is a thoughtful service. After mixing it all together, it was very delicious and not too salty.
🌟 Fish Roe Shrimp Cakes
I noticed a star next to this dish on the menu, so I decided to give it a try. It’s quite special because, in addition to the shrimp flavor, it has a generous amount of fish roe that doesn't overpower the taste but adds a crunchy texture. I thought it was quite tasty, and it's something you can’t find at other places, so it’s quite distinctive. I recommend everyone who comes here to definitely try it.
Overall, there were almost no misses. The meats, vegetables, and other ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I felt very satisfied after the meal, and it wasn't too expensive. It’s definitely worth a revisit! 👍
