Location: Xinyi District, Taipei City
One of the three major gyudon chains from Japan that came to Taiwan.
Among these three, I often eat at Sukiya and it’s also my personal favorite.
This time, I saw someone sharing that they have a new hot pot option, which seemed perfect to try out as the weather gets colder.
This store near the city hall had quite a few people during dining hours,
but the food was served quickly.
We only waited about 5 minutes for a table for two.
Ordering online was pretty convenient as well.
For the Sukiyaki hot pot,
I chose the a la carte option
because I couldn't finish the other side dishes.
Also, the sukiyaki comes with udon noodles,
which is a starch-on-starch combination,
so it can be really filling.
The seasoning was quite good,
with a nice soy sauce flavor paired with tofu, vegetables, and beef.
Overall, the taste was really delicious 😋
and makes you want to try it out on a cold day.
Besides, since it's a chain with many locations, the quality is consistent.
Overall, I think it's pretty recommendable,
and the prices are cheap.
If you pass by and there's no line, you should definitely go eat there.
