Because "Bride Snacks" has an option for Century Egg Dried Noodles, as a Century Egg enthusiast, I have had it on my to-eat list for a long time.
"Bride Snacks" has three branches in total, and today I am dining at the Baoqing branch, which is located near Nanjing Sanmin Station, about a 9-minute walk from Exit 4.
One commendable thing about this place is that it doesn’t take a break in the afternoon! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 2 PM, and there were still quite a few customers in the restaurant; it seems to be doing pretty well.
Century Egg Dried Noodles (Slightly Spicy) $75
The spiciness was higher than I expected, so if you can’t handle spicy food well, you might want to consider this; the portions of Century Egg and minced meat were quite generous, but I felt the noodle portion was a bit lacking. It would be great if there were an option to upsell; the flavor was quite good, I liked it!
Cabbage Dumplings (10 pieces) $80
They were relatively large, but I wasn’t very satisfied with the cabbage flavor; the seasoning didn’t quite suit my taste.
Miso Egg Flower Soup $45
This bowl of soup is quite large, with a generous amount of tofu; the miso was rich and delicious, definitely a plus.
Pork Jowl $80
Sliced into thin pieces, the original seasoning was quite flavorful, and even without dipping sauce, it was fine. It had a subtle aroma of sesame oil and fragrant oil, tasty!
One slightly disappointing thing was that we only ordered one serving of Pork Jowl, but it took a long time to arrive. Later, I noticed the staff had cut it in half and then just started chatting without chopping anymore. 😅
