I first noticed this place because their selection of bowls and plates is super beautiful! It's my favorite style. Later I found out they have a bistro, so I saved it for a visit right before Christmas.
▪️Tomato Plum Burrata Cheese $520
Burrata cheese is an Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. My friend loves tomatoes, so we ordered this dish. The sweet and sour tomatoes combined with the cheese gives a taste reminiscent of Italian Bolognese, but more layered. However, I expected it to have more vegetables; overall, it was a bit dull.
▪️Golden Sweet Potato Fried Chicken $280
The fried chicken was perfectly done, juicy and tender, and the combination with the golden sweet potato was quite nice.
▪️Pan-Seared Scallop Risotto $680 + Sea Urchin Extra $200
You can add sea urchin for an extra charge. I must say, I’ve never really understood sea urchin. I've only had it a couple of times and could accept it. The amount of sea urchin here was quite large, but I didn't think the flavor suited my taste. My friend liked it a lot, but I have to say the scallops were huge and perfectly seared. There were also a few fish roe and sago on top (very interesting). The rice had a bit of chewiness, which was nice, but the flavor wasn’t quite right for me.
▪️Savory Red Wine Duck Breast $980
A beautiful dish! However, the portion of duck breast felt a bit small, and the overall performance was average, but the sides were quite delicious~
▪️One bottle of sparkling water $140
▪️Ocard birthday special dessert
Yes, it’s a store where even water has to be paid for, but $140 for a bottle is larger than I expected. Additionally, since my friend is the birthday star of the month, we received a small complimentary dessert, a canelé, and I must say this canelé was amazing! It became today's VIP treat 😂
Overall, the advantages include simple, comfortable decoration with a nice atmosphere. The cutlery is very attractive (I want to buy it to take home), and the plating of the dishes is beautiful, making it suitable for a date when you're not that hungry. However, the downside is that the portion sizes are small. My friend and I spent over three thousand without ordering any wine and felt completely unsatisfied. While it is pretty, having eaten at other relatively better places, I currently have low willingness to revisit this restaurant.
