Located on the outskirts of the Shida Night Market area, you can reach it easily from the Taipei Power Building MRT station.
The restaurant is quite popular, and during peak dining hours, you often have to wait a long time. However, their serving times can be quite peculiar; sometimes the rice is already finished, but the soup hasn't arrived yet.
I highly recommend their milkfish belly soup, as I can honestly say it's the best fresh and affordable milkfish belly soup I've had in Taipei. The flavor truly competes with that of Tainan's milkfish belly.
The braised pork rice is rather average; sometimes it can be too dry or too greasy, so it's a good idea to remind the restaurant to adjust it.
Sometimes, when the staff is clearing the dishes from the previous group of customers, it can take a while, so you can gently remind them.
Their chicken leg plate is often sold out very early. I've tried it a few times and found that the chicken leg meat is quite delicious.
One downside might be the hygiene environment; I've seen rats or cockroaches running past a few times. But given that it's near a market, I find this somewhat more acceptable.
If there's an available seat, I would recommend choosing the indoor seating on the first floor across the way, as it is much cleaner and tends to be cooler.
