Tainan really has a high standard for beef soup at almost every shop. This time, at a place in the Anding market, I saw a bunch of locals having breakfast early in the morning, and I instantly thought: Yes, this is the daily routine of Tainan people. 🤣
The market itself has an old charm, and walking in gives you that "only early risers can enjoy this" feeling. The beef soup has a refreshing broth, and the beef is sliced thin, with a strong beef aroma—though I found the texture a bit tough.
I actually recommend their beef stew soup even more! The sweet taste characteristic of Tainan is a big plus, the beef is cut thicker and is more tender, plus it has a slightly powdery color. The whole bowl is super smooth to drink. 👍
Pair it with a bowl of braised pork rice to fill your stomach, and breakfast is very satisfying! Next time I come to the market and want something hot, I’ll definitely add this to my must-try list. 😋
