The King Noodle Soup Rice is located on Section 1 of Jianguo South Road, near the well-known National Taipei University of Technology and Guanghua Market. It takes about a ten-minute walk from the Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station.
Today, I enjoyed the mixed soup noodles, priced at 85 NTD.
Mixed Soup Noodles:
A large bowl, with the choice of traditional yellow noodles, which has a decent texture. The flavor is pretty good after absorbing the soup, and the large portion is indeed filling.
The soup base performs well, tasting quite smooth; however, the mixed soup only offers meat soup, squid soup, and milkfish soup, with no fish crispy soup available. The rich flavor of the milkfish soup is particularly commendable.
However, the pepper flavor in the broth is quite strong, and after drinking it down, a subtle, indescribable taste emerges, which can be slightly distracting.
In contrast, the chili and pickled vegetables provided by the shop stand out. The chili has sufficient fragrance, and the pickled vegetables are flavorful and help alleviate the greasiness. They fill in the gaps of the meal quite well.
Overall, it is a small eatery with ample portions and reasonable prices. The space inside is relatively spacious, with seating that is not cramped, and the decor style is simple. It follows the traditional snack shop route.
This area usually has heavy traffic, and there are many affordable lunch boxes and snack options nearby. Considering the habits of university students in the area, shops here tend to remain open in the afternoons.
I recommend it to everyone.
