Afternoon Tea2 ppl30

The Hualien Temple Mouth Red Tea is located on Chenggong Street in Hualien City, named because the Hualien Chenghuang Temple is directly across the street. Although the shop is named after red tea, similar to the nearby Liming Red Tea on Nanjing Street, the shop’s offerings are more akin to those of a breakfast shop. It underwent a long renovation and only reopened for business in the last month or two, leaving many to miss it.

Today I enjoyed some red tea, which totaled 60 NT dollars.

Red Tea:
The large cup is 30 NT dollars. Unlike the currently closed Zhongshan Road Steel Pipe Red Tea, the shop's red tea is genuinely extracted from a steel pipe. The overall flavor is on the sweeter side, but not to the point of being cloying; it's a classic, traditional taste.

However, when mentioning the three major traditional red teas in Hualien, I personally still prefer the flavor of Liming Red Tea.

Overall, it is a traditional breakfast shop named after red tea. Since I visited after meal time, I had no plans to try other dishes. But according to friends from Hualien, the taste is also quite good.

The dining area of the shop is quite spacious and comfortable, allowing patrons to enjoy views of the Chenghuang Temple and the Thai double-headed white elephant in the plaza in front of the temple. The shop also provides access to restrooms. The well-known Gongzheng Baozi has moved here for quite some time now, making it a cozy and quiet yet functional little area.

I recommend it to everyone.
