This time I tasted one of their specialties, the Thai vegetarian hot pot series, specifically the spicy hot pot with a South Asian flavor. The soup base incorporates coconut milk, lemongrass, and Thai spices, resulting in a mildly spicy yet comforting flavor, with a rich and aromatic vegetarian broth. It features a variety of vegetables such as tomatoes, mushrooms, and tofu skin. What I particularly appreciated was the balance of the coconut milk aroma and the spiciness of the lemongrass; even though the spiciness is not strong, the aroma is enough to support the overall flavor of the pot.
The vegetarian hot pot and baked dishes are generally well-received, although they are on the higher price side, starting at about 200. For those looking for an affordable meal, the price might seem a bit high, but when combined with the atmosphere and drink/dessert options, the overall experience feels more balanced.
In summary, the spicy hot pot at Denim Elephant Café is a creative dish that combines Thai flavors with vegetarian healthiness, with a well-blended coconut milk base and spices, along with a rich variety of side dishes. It's definitely a place worth revisiting.
