Located on the first floor of the Water's Edge Hotel at Shui She Pier by Sun Moon Lake, I wanted to try a more unique dish while in Sun Moon Lake. A friend recommended this place, and since they had a good experience, I decided to check it out. On that Sunday evening, there weren't many people, so we could sit down immediately. We ordered the following dishes.

▫️Special pork chop / soy-braised chicken cubes
The main dish was presented by the staff and I chose the one that sounded more interesting. However, I found the main dish to be quite ordinary; the chicken cubes were made using the three-cup method, which was tasty but quite standard. The pork chop my friend ordered didn’t appear to be fried just by its name, and it tasted rather average.

▫️Soy-braised cyprinid fish (cold dish) along with kimchi and ginger slices
▫️Fresh vegetables with king oyster mushrooms
▫️Fresh bamboo shoots with umami
▫️Wild boar meat and bamboo shoot soup
▫️A bowl of white rice
What impressed me the most was that all the accompanying side dishes were delicious!! Each could stand alone as an independent dish, the vegetables were very sweet, and the seasoning was just right. The fried shrimp was very fragrant, and even the soup was great! I really liked it.

B. Selected millet wine + Assam tea jelly
C. Change drink for a $30 discount (excluding alcoholic beverages) + Assam tea jelly
I specifically listed the dessert set because I thought it was cool to have millet wine as an option, but we chose A. The tea was served hot and unsweetened, while the tea jelly also had small tapioca pearls, which were sweeter but made for a nice dessert after the meal.
Overall, I quite enjoyed it. Although the main course was just okay, the side dishes were all very good, and the large plate was great for photos and had a lot of character 😆. Plus, it was right next to Sun Moon Lake, which is very convenient if you live nearby— the service staff we encountered that day were very lively.
