"Su's Dongshan Duck Head" is located on Jinxue Road in Shanhua, Tainan. This shop was recommended to me by a colleague, and it really is quite special. To be honest, I rarely eat Dongshan duck head because this method of cooking by first braising and then frying is definitely high in calories, and it makes me feel guilty, so it can't be eaten often 😆. Speaking of Dongshan, I initially thought it was a place in China, but later I found out it's a place name in Tainan.
The flavor of this Dongshan duck head is a bit on the sweet side, which might be common in the south, but it doesn't make you feel cloyed. Instead, it's quite tasty and makes you want to keep eating. What surprised me the most is that they actually sell pork trotters! Is it common for Dongshan duck head places to have pork trotters? I rarely see pork trotters in fried food shops 😆. The pork trotters are not only soft and flavorful but paired with the sweet sauce, they truly stand out. Besides pork trotters, their tofu skin is also a specialty, with a smooth and tasty texture, and it's worth a try.
Overall, "Su's Dongshan Duck Head" may not be the healthiest choice, but its flavors are indeed irresistible. Especially the pork trotters and tofu skin, I recommend them to friends who want to try something different. If you're like me and want to indulge occasionally, this place is definitely worth a visit!
