鮮魚鱻蝦仁飯

I personally feel that some snack shops are overhyped in terms of cost-performance ratio 💁. Since it made the list in 2021 and is still on it this year, this Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winning shop 🏅 is also one of the 500 bowl award winners. The food is good, but the prices are quite shocking 💸.

🙅‍♀️ I do not recommend coming here alone. It's better to enjoy it with a group so that the cost can be shared more evenly 🙆‍♂️. Even with three of us having this set meal, it cost $485, (and we didn't even feel full). Averaging around $162 per person feels a bit pricey to me 🥲.

Although I see crowds lining up every day and always people waiting inside, it’s really not a place I would recommend or want to visit daily.

What I might recommend is possibly because it has won the Bib Gourmand and is included in the 500 bowls. It’s fine for taking a bowl of shrimp rice regularly, but for a full meal... I might just bring friends to try it out.

This shop sells a lot for takeout, and there are many people dining in. Although there are many staff members and the table-clearing speed is fast, no one will guide you to a seat or arrange seating for you; everything relies on grabbing a spot! 🏃

It's like when you go to a department store's food court during meal times; you often have to watch from the side to see which table finishes first, quietly waiting beside it and rushing to take a seat after they leave!

Most of the seating in this shop is inside, but sitting down still follows this kind of method 😩. Of course, if you end up at a large table, you might have to share it with others, which is one of the reasons I don't like to dine here 😓.

Apart from the pressure of grabbing seats and feeling bad for standing too close to others, having someone stand beside you while eating is also quite stressful 😰.

Dining in allows you to enjoy hot dishes immediately, but in such a pressure-filled environment, the meal doesn’t taste as good. I would rather choose takeout 🙂‍↔️.

Shrimp Rice $35 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌖 The most signature item, a must-order dish 💥 In this restaurant, I think this is the item with the best value. There aren't many shrimp, but the rice is very fragrant; it's not a large bowl, just a small one. But $35 is acceptable👌
Seared Mackerel Floss Rice (without meat sauce) $45 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑 You can choose to add meat sauce for an extra $10, but we didn't want a very oily or heavy flavor, so we didn't add it. Basically, it's white rice topped with mackerel floss, and it tends to be on the dry side.
Braised Shad Fish Belly $130 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 A half piece of shad fish belly, not too salty, The fish meat is tender yet has a nice chew, and I didn't encounter any fish bones (I didn't find any). It can be ordered as a side dish. 🙆‍♂️
Century Egg Tofu $40 🌕🌕🌑🌑🌑 I originally wanted to order the salad with cold bamboo shoots, but it was sold out. The other small dishes were also gone, so in the end I decided on the Century Egg Tofu. It's a home-style dish, nothing particularly special. There was only half a block of tofu and one century egg, it was just average.
Small Squid Platter $110 🌕🌑🌑🌑🌑 Since someone loves eating small squid, we ordered this platter, but it really is 💸💸💸💸💸 For 3 people, each had just 1-2 bites and it was gone (you can see the full photos at the back to understand how "little" it is) Roughly estimating, there might only be about half a squid's worth, it's not hard to eat, but it really is very small.
Mixed百頁豆腐 / kelp / braised egg $55 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 It basically means a half portion of each braised item. I think it's a good option to order as a side dish 🙆‍♂️, as it offers a variety and is reasonably priced.
Seasonal greens $35 It's just regular boiled greens~ The price is quite acceptable.
Only the marinated fish belly and the cold dish with small squid are priced in the three-digit range. Overall, it does look like snacks in terms of price and appearance. The total amount for the items in the photo is $485.
The translation of "菜單供參" to English is "Menu for reference."
There is also a menu on the wall, but it doesn't include all the items.
Basically, it's self-service. You take the menu yourself, find your own seat, and get your own utensils. The restaurant will collect the dishes when you leave.
Business Hours No break in the afternoon~
The people inside the counter are all employees. The ones standing are basically customers waiting for a seat. Based on experience, this crowd is considered to be small.
There are many bags waiting for delivery on the dining table.

The signboard -2 This is how the snacks and delicacies are! 👋 You wouldn't find it if you just pass by, it's the kind that you have to seek out. 😅
