Located in Taitung's Changbin Township, Xiao Li Kitchen is a popular omakase restaurant loved by travelers, specializing in creative Chinese cuisine with affordable prices, offering a menu-less dining experience for just 500 NT dollars per person. After just finishing the Changbin Marathon, we dragged our hungry and fatigued bodies, ready to indulge in a feast.
The restaurant is situated in Ningpu Village, near the 95-kilometer mark on Taiwan Highway 11, close to Yu-Chang Road, and it may require some effort to find. The environment is tranquil, with a lush green rice field in front that evokes a strong rural atmosphere. The dining area is simple and comfortable, with limited seating, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance.
Xiao Li Kitchen's dishes focus on fresh local ingredients, and the menu changes according to the season and available ingredients. The stir-fried dragon whiskers vegetable is made with a generous amount of garlic, making it a dish that garlic lovers shouldn't miss. The fried chicken wings are also exceptionally tender and sweet, without feeling overly greasy or burdensome to eat.
The owner is very friendly, and recommends this place to friends looking to enjoy a menu-less meal without the crowds.
