During midterm week, I wanted to treat myself to something nice, so I opted for the set meal at $88, which lets you choose any two from the daily soup/drinks/desserts.
Daily Soup (French Creamy Mushroom Soup + Bread) $58
A standard mushroom soup. I really like mushroom soup, so I found it quite good. The bread had a strong cheese flavor.
Green Peppercorn Chicken Mushroom Risotto + Baked $248 + $38
This is not a combination of green sauce and white sauce. If you look at the menu, you'll notice it includes green peppercorns, which gives it a flavor that’s like a mix of white sauce and spicy, but the numbing sensation is much stronger than the heat. The rice contains bell peppers, enoki mushrooms, and chicken, with plenty of tender chicken pieces, which has a nice texture.
The downside is that it’s really numbing; by the end, my mouth just felt numb without tasting much of the dish.
Classic Cheesecake $78
It’s more like a light cheesecake, similar to the ones from 85°C.
My previous visits here were pretty good. Today, I was seated around 8:00 PM and was placed next to the counter. Perhaps because it was close to closing time, some of the staff were already tidying up, which wasn't very pleasant for the patrons sitting by the counter, especially when they were washing glasses; the clinking sounds were quite loud, and overall, the dining experience wasn’t great.
