ABV Bar & Kitchen 地中海餐酒館 台北光復店

ABV Bar & Kitchen, a Mediterranean tavern located in Taipei's Guangfu branch at Lane 260, Guangfu South Road, is about a three-minute walk from the National Taiwan University Memorial Hall MRT station. Just by looking at the name, you can tell that this place specializes in various Mediterranean dishes.

Today, I enjoyed a Galician octopus cold platter, Lebanese lemon-garlic chicken wings, Alsatian sauerkraut sausage stew, and a soft drink, costing a total of 1232 TWD.

Galician Octopus Cold Platter:
This cold appetizer is a classic seafood dish from the Galician region in northern Spain. The octopus is cooked to perfection, with a chewy yet tender texture, subtly flavored with sea salt, accompanied by small pieces of potato.

Lebanese Lemon-Garlic Chicken Wings:
For the hot appetizer, I chose this classic Lebanese dish. The chicken wings are crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. The garlic flavor is robust but not overpowering, and the tartness of the lemon adds balance to the dish. However, it seems they were a bit overcooked today, with a slightly burnt color that added some charred aroma, but it didn’t affect the deliciousness inside.

Alsatian Sauerkraut Sausage Stew:
This is a Christmas specialty from the Alsace region in France. The distinct fermented flavor of the German-style sauerkraut is complemented here with Bavarian veal sausages and Spanish chorizo stew. The rich meaty aroma is enjoyable, and the tanginess from the sauerkraut ensures that the dish is not too greasy. The sprinkled red pepper adds a subtle fruitiness, enhancing the overall flavor. The potatoes soak up the broth, offering a smooth texture that is very satisfying.

Overall, this is a delightful tavern full of exotic flavors. All the dishes revolve around the Mediterranean theme, perfectly showcasing the restaurant's culinary focus. The restaurant is spacious, and there is an impressive beer cabinet. Although I didn’t drink today, I hope to return and fully enjoy everything.
