This is a restaurant located right next to the Shilin Night Market where you can enjoy dishes like udon, rice bowls, and hot pot.
It gave me the impression that the main dishes are Taiwanese-style rather than Japanese-style!
【Atmosphere of the restaurant】
The interior is not very large and has a cozy feel. I visited on a weekday night, and it felt very Taiwanese when the staff gathered at the back of the restaurant, chatting and having a good time 😂. The restaurant has a neat ambiance, and it seems more suitable for a quick meal rather than dining out with friends or family.
【Food evaluation】
Honestly, it was neither particularly good nor bad…
The portion size is decent, but the seasoning is quite average. The rice bowl with shrimp tempura that I ordered had cauliflower and green beans tossed in sesame dressing on top of the rice, which I personally would have preferred to be separate 🥲.
The shrimp tempura was crispy and delicious, but I thought it wasn't necessary to have it in a rice bowl 😇. There were quite a few types of rice bowls available, but since udon seems to be their specialty, I wonder if udon might offer a higher level of satisfaction?
Since it's right next to the night market, it's a great choice for when you want to sit down and enjoy a meal!
