We ordered a couple’s meal and chose spicy hot pot as our single soup base, along with marbled beef, pork shoulder, fresh shrimp balls, fried dough sticks, handmade ramen, and oolong tea. Overall, the ingredients were fresh, the broth rich, the service attentive, and the environment of the restaurant was clean and comfortable, making it suitable for gatherings with friends or couples.

🍲 Spicy Hot Pot Base
The spicy broth at Qinghua Jiao has a moderate level of spiciness but is very layered, with a strong numbing flavor. Drinking it gives a warm, stimulating sensation, and if you need to adjust the spiciness, you can always ask the waiter. The broth also has aromas of Chinese medicinal herbs, like Sichuan peppercorns and star anise, and the flavor intensifies the longer it cooks, making it perfect for dipping meat and vegetables!

🥩 Marbled Beef and Pork Shoulder
The marbled beef has a well-distributed fat content. After dipping it in the spicy hot pot broth for about 10 seconds, the meat melts in your mouth while carrying a hint of sweetness. The pork shoulder was also fantastic, complementing the spicy broth perfectly, and it didn’t feel greasy at all.

🥖 Fried Dough Sticks
Although they’re a classic hot pot ingredient, after soaking in the spicy broth, they turn out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a strong soup aroma when you bite into them. It’s incredibly satisfying.

🍜 Ramen
The ramen was somewhat ordinary, and there was also white rice available in the self-serve area.

🍵 Oolong Tea
It tastes refreshing and sweet, perfectly balancing out the spicy sensation of the hot pot. Having a sip after finishing the hot pot is very soothing and helps cleanse the palate.
