Located on Beimen Street in Hsinchu, "Shengdi Pizza Shop" is a small, warm, wood-fired pizza specialty store. Its appearance is understated and simple, but it has accumulated quite a reputation, especially among students and office workers. Here, you can not only dine in but also have Uber delivery service. Even for a dish like pizza, which loses its charm when it cools down, their quality still makes people willing to repurchase repeatedly.

The interior space is bright and simple, with limited seating but a relaxed atmosphere. The minimum order for dining in is one pizza per person (including pizza dumplings), which is quite reasonable. They thoughtfully provide free drinking water and allow you to bring your own beverages, making you feel the shop's free-spirited and informal style.

Although I usually order delivery from here often, and it inevitably cools down and loses some texture, the taste remains high quality. This time, I specially came to dine in and eat it fresh, and indeed, having pizza hot does make a difference!

I ordered two kinds this time, starting with "Florentina."
As soon as it was served, the aroma hit me; the tomato sauce was tangy and refreshing, the mozzarella was creamy and not overwhelming, paired with the savory aroma of bacon and the sweetness of spinach, topped with a soft-boiled egg that added the finishing touch, creating a great overall layered experience. The dough is their strong suit, with a handmade crust that is just the right thickness, slightly charred and crispy on the edges, and chewy when bitten, which is great on its own without any extra dipping sauce.

The other one is "Carbonara."
This one is made with mozzarella and Gorgonzola cheeses, complemented by bacon, black pepper, and a cream-based sauce, providing a rich flavor profile. The creaminess and salty essence of the cheeses blend well, and the slight bitterness and depth from the Gorgonzola give this pizza a mature taste. The smoothness of the soft-boiled egg balances the intensity of the sauce, and the black pepper enhances the flavor without overpowering it; it's a very stable classic edition.

Both pizzas were topped with Parmigiano cheese and extra virgin olive oil, which added complexity to the aroma and aftertaste, allowing every bite to showcase the care in the ingredients and preparation. Compared to the two, I personally prefer the Florentina; it has more layers. I have tried many flavors since I often order delivery from here and privately really like the anchovy and salty pork. I was initially scared when I first heard of it, but it surprisingly turned out to be delicious.

In summary, "Shengdi Pizza Shop" is a great store focused on the essence of pizza, with attention given to both the crust and toppings. While delivery is convenient, you must visit once in person to fully appreciate the charm of their pizza. If you're looking for different dining options near Beimen Street, this place is definitely worth trying, whether for classic flavors or creative variations; each pizza showcases a commitment to being "simple yet extraordinary"!
