"Wenyuan Street Yang Chun Mian Stinky Tofu" is located in Douliu, Yunlin, and is somewhat known locally for its affordable prices and generous portions. However, the performance of the Yang Chun Mian and stinky tofu is fairly standard and not particularly outstanding. The noodles in the Yang Chun Mian are soft and chewy, but the soup is relatively mild, lacking a bit of richness. The stinky tofu is of the juicy and moist variety, unlike the crispy outside and soft inside version we are familiar with, lacking some of the crunchy satisfaction, but it goes okay with the flavor of the chili sauce it's soaked in.
The biggest feature of this restaurant might be its price advantage, indeed very affordable, attracting quite a few local residents. However, because the crowds are large, there's often a need to queue up. Plus, the ordering rules and serving process inside the shop are rather chaotic, often leaving people at a loss. Sometimes, after waiting for a long time in line, issues with seating, ordering, or the sequence of dishes being served result in a dining experience that falls short of expectations. Having been there a few times, I felt that ordering was disorganized, and the serving was often chaotic, requiring constant reminders to the shop that your dishes haven't been served. If tourists are not constrained by time, it's not particularly recommended to line up to try it.
Overall, the flavors at "Wenyuan Street Yang Chun Mian Stinky Tofu" are not very outstanding, but the pricing is appealing. However, the queue and ordering management need improvement, and it's not considered a must-try on the list.
