"Cheng Shi Hot Pot" is located in Dou Nan, Yunlin, and is a popular hot pot restaurant in the area known for its dual cooking method of grilling and boiling, as well as its good quality meat. There are a variety of small hot pot options here, with the signature milk pot being particularly favored. I personally enjoy ordering the milk broth, which has a rich, creamy flavor that complements both beef and vegetables very well. The option of dual cooking allows you to enjoy the rich broth while also experiencing the aroma of grilling, satisfying two textures at once.

The portions of vegetables are relatively generous compared to other hot pot restaurants, especially the taro, which has a dense texture that doesn’t easily break apart. When slowly stewed in the broth, it takes on a soft and fluffy texture, becoming one of the highlights of the pot. Moreover, dining here allows for some DIY creative eating methods, such as adding chopped green onions and an egg from the sauce station to fry your own green onion egg on the iron plate; or after softening the glass noodles, you can toss them onto the iron plate, adding minced garlic, chili, and chopped green onions to create a fragrant stir-fried noodle dish.

There are two locations, and on the day we went, one of them had a malfunctioning air conditioner, making it a bit stuffy. However, everyone preferred to sit at the other location, so the one with the air conditioning issue didn’t have to deal with a wait, allowing me to dine there instead.

Overall, Cheng Shi Hot Pot offers relatively affordable prices and good quality meat, making it especially suitable for family or friend gatherings. I also hope they fix their air conditioning soon.
