Located on Fuxing Road in Yilan, 🔸Fuxing Road Zha Jiang Mian🔸
When I was checking out local delicacies in Yilan,
I saw quite a few people recommending this place,
so I decided to give it a try.
✅ Zha Jiang Mian (Fried Sauce Noodles)
The small bowl is already quite substantial in size.
If you have a small appetite, I suggest not ordering one by yourself. 🤣
The fried sauce is very thick and difficult to mix.
Adding a bit of soup helps to loosen it a little bit.
As for the taste,
it's quite different from what I've had in other cities.
It lacks the salty aroma of fermented bean paste.
Overall seasoning is on the lighter side, missing a key flavor.
Adding the chili sauce on the table adds a bit of spicy depth,
but it’s really quite ordinary.
Maybe I just don't match the Yilan flavor. 🤣
✅ Wonton Soup 🥣
The large bowl has at least ten wontons 🥟
and it tastes pretty good.
The broth has a hint of shrimp flavor 🦐.
The seasoning isn’t too bland or too salty,
and it performs much better than the fried sauce noodles.
I arrived around 11 AM on a weekend,
and the dine-in area was nearly full.
Fortunately, there was no line to wait.
When I finished and came out, a line was starting to form.
Overall, the experience was quite average.
I didn’t think it was worth waiting in line for,
but the value for money is pretty high.
The portions are large,
and even without a wait, it’s still worth checking out.
