Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Dickson's Fooday Review #244

This time I’ll introduce a very rare Czech cuisine in Taipei!
There really aren’t many places in the Greater Taipei area or even Taiwan that serve Czech food!
This restaurant is directly named Czech Apartment, which clearly shows its strong connection to Czech culture!

The restaurant feels more like a small bistro that serves alcohol, and most of the menu features Czech specialty dishes!
Since it’s quite uncommon to find authentic European cuisine in Taiwan, let alone Czech cuisine, I was eager to try real Czech food upon seeing this restaurant!

However, it’s important to note that some menu items need to be pre-ordered, as the restaurant prepares them in advance.
So if you want to order their specialty raw beef dish, be sure to remind the staff ahead of time!

Czech food is truly unique, and it offers flavors that we rarely encounter in our regular dining experiences.
While taste can be subjective, it indeed has distinctive features that are quite impressive and enticing, making one want to return to try more dishes!

For friends looking to try Czech cuisine, this is definitely a place to check out.
However, it seems the restaurant is in the process of moving, so you might have to wait until the move is complete to visit!

⭐️Food Section
👉Raw Beef Tartare $890
This raw beef tartare is the signature dish of this restaurant.
Since I was here, I had to pre-order it.
The presentation of the dish was quite impressive, with a variety of sauces accompanying the beef!

From the photos, you can see how cute the raw beef looks, resembling a big meatball topped with an egg yolk, surrounded by many condiments and powders meant to complement the beef!

After finishing my photos, the owner mixed the raw beef with the various condiments, creating a delicious beef tartare sauce!

There were also plenty of bread served alongside, as in Europe, many staple foods are based on bread.
So pairing the bread with the raw beef and sauces is the essence of this dish!

In terms of eating, the owner personally teaches you how to enjoy this dish with the bread!
You can imagine that when the raw beef is combined with the condiments and sauces, it creates a jam-like experience.
Then, you can spread this raw beef sauce on your bread, making for a very unique beef tartare sandwich!

The essence of the beef includes its sauces, and as you can see from the picture, there’s a wide variety of sauces and powders.
Overall, the taste is amazing and very distinctive!
I think if you usually enjoy raw beef from Japan, this dish is definitely a must-try.
The texture and flavor are completely different from typical Japanese raw beef!
It might be due to the specific cuts of meat used.
Just combining it with the bread and raw beef sauce creates a delicious flavor experience!

You can also mix it with different spices and sauces, letting each unique combination burst with new flavors!
It really is an entirely new experience!

The flavor is quite special, and I don’t think anyone would have an aversion to its taste!

This dish is undoubtedly a must-try!

👉Vinegar-Marinated Sausage $190
The appetizer I ordered was a vinegar-marinated sausage, which is essentially a type of European long sausage.
It felt more like a hot dog in taste.
It came with various accompaniments like pickles, and the portion isn't too large, making it very refreshing and appetizing!

Of course, every dish includes bread, so I ended up with several slices of bread to enjoy! 😂😂😂
I believe bread lovers will really appreciate this European cuisine!

👉Garlic Soup $180
The garlic soup here is quite rich in flavor; it could probably scare away vampires!
Although the garlic flavor is strong, it’s not unpleasant and serves as a very appetizing starter!

Overall, almost every main dish or appetizer here comes with bread, so there’s no need to worry about not being full.
The filling effect of bread is actually quite substantial.

I believe the main recommendation here is still the raw beef.
The presentation and deliciousness of this dish make it very photogenic!

The owner personally comes over to prepare the raw beef with the accompaniments.
This is also a great time to capture video footage of how the owner assembles the raw beef dish, transforming it into the paste you can enjoy on bread.
I still remember how delicious and memorable it was!

⭐️Drink Section
The menu mentions that if you need any special Czech drinks, you can directly ask the staff or the owner.
However, since I didn’t plan on drinking that day, I didn’t specifically inquire about the drinks.
Yet, I saw that various Czech specialty alcohols were prepared for customers to use!

I’ll definitely consider trying them next time!
After all, Europeans love to drink, and their flavors differ from those of Asian or American beverages!
I must try it out next time!

⭐️Atmosphere Section
The main style is a darker wood-tone theme.
The restaurant isn’t extremely bright, but it doesn’t hinder the dining experience!

There’s also a projector continuously playing interesting movies, which feel like old European films from who knows which decade, and they’re in black and white!
But it’s quite entertaining!

I visited on a Friday night, and there weren’t many groups in the restaurant, so it was relatively quiet and suitable for dates!

The restaurant has a cozy dining space.
Since there weren’t too many people, the overall feel was quite comfortable!

The lighting is also on the dimmer side, so I think it’s very suitable for couples who are in a romantic phase to enjoy a meal while chatting about exotic cuisine!

⭐️Service Section
There aren’t many staff in the restaurant; I remember the owner personally attended to us.
If you’ve ordered the pre-reserved raw beef, the owner will also provide hands-on guidance on how to enjoy this dish!

I found the service to be quite considerate.
If you have more questions about Czech cuisine, you can directly ask the owner, who provides very detailed explanations about the specialty of this Czech dish!
Hence, I feel the service here is exceptionally thoughtful!

⭐️Price Section
Overall, I feel the dishes here are quite affordable, especially considering they offer unique foreign cuisine.
The prices aren’t particularly high, and some dishes even felt quite cheap!

In the end, I think dining here is quite cost-effective, allowing you to enjoy so many special dishes without spending excessively!
The price section gets a big thumbs up!!

⭐️Location Section
The nearest MRT stations are Liuzhangli and the vicinity of Wuxing Street.
Transportation isn’t very convenient, and it’s a bit of a walk—about 10 to 15 minutes to reach.

There aren’t many notable spots nearby, so if you’re coming for Czech cuisine, you’ll likely have to go out of your way just for it.
However, I believe it’s reasonable to make a special trip for such a rare Czech restaurant!

⭐️Overall Review
Just the fact that it’s a very special and rare Czech place is worth the visit.
I’m not entirely sure if it’s genuinely authentic, as we rarely have dedicated Czech restaurants in Taiwan, but I do feel that I found some new flavors here.
At least there are many dishes and tastes that you won’t find elsewhere!

Based on these points, I believe everyone should try this place at least once!
After all, it’s good to experience some new things!

Also, if you decide to visit, be sure to pre-order the raw beef dish!

This dish is truly special, whether in terms of its initial presentation or how the owner processes and mixes it, leading to the final enjoyment of the beef sauce on bread.

Every stage has its unique surprise.
Besides being visually appealing, it tastes remarkably distinctive, offering a real impact on your palate!
So, I highly recommend this dish!

For friends who enjoy trying various international cuisines, you definitely shouldn’t miss out on this Czech restaurant!
