🚩 Signature Braised Chicken Meal & Duck Noodle - High Value for Money 🔝
📍 Location and Transportation: Jianhong Chicken Rice is located in the famous Lane 216, Section 4, Zhongxiao East Road, in the Eastern District of Taipei. The nearest MRT station is Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, Exit 3, which is about a 4-minute walk. There are a few motorcycle parking spaces across from a 711 store.
🏠 Space: The entrance has an area for ordering and food preparation, while the dining area inside has an outdated decor and a mediocre environment, with about 30 seats. The way the tables are cleared could be improved; it doesn't look very good. While writing this review, I discovered that Jianhong Chicken Rice is a chain with five branches in Taipei.
💰 Ordering and Payment: You fill out the order on a paper menu and pay in cash after your meal.
🍽️ Dishes:
Braised Pork Meal: Includes braised pork, braised egg, shredded bamboo shoots, and pickled vegetables. There's a considerable amount of rice with enough soy sauce to go along, making it a simple and hearty meal.
Duck Intestine Soup: Crunchy duck intestines paired with an appropriate amount of ginger, tastes pretty good.
Shredded Chicken Rice: A mini version of the set meal without the braised egg, and the portion of shredded chicken is acceptable.
(Duck) Offal Vermicelli: The soup base is topped with crispy shallots, and the amount of offal provided is sufficient. The broth is on the lighter side, and it comes with half a braised egg.
Blanched Vegetables: Just regular blanched greens, but two types are provided, with slightly larger portions than other places.
💭 Summary:
If you want to have a meal for around 100 NTD in the Eastern District during lunchtime, you can consider Jianhong Chicken Rice. Chicken and braised pork rice are the most economical options, and if you have a bigger appetite, go for the set meal. For noodle soup, there are plenty of duck parts available to order. If you have a small appetite, you can still feel satisfied, but the flavors are relatively mild.
