I visited a restaurant in Umeda where you can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine🇪🇸

The restaurant is called XIRINGUITO Escribà OSAKA and is located on the 3rd floor of the Ingate Osaka Balchika 03 building🏙️

XIRINGUITO Escribà, a Spanish restaurant beloved in Barcelona for over 25 years, made its debut in Japan in 2018. They offer "authentic" paella, continuing the traditional cooking methods from their home country. In this recent renewal, they have introduced a new S size for a tasting experience with smaller groups, expanding their offerings to three sizes: S, M, and L, allowing you to choose based on your party size or occasion. Additionally, they have added 12 varieties of tapas, including the "Iberico Ham and Airbag," which features a pizza crust designed to look like an airbag topped generously with Iberico ham, a "Fresh Mushroom Salad" with a tangy twist, refreshing "Flounder Ceviche" concentrated with umami flavors, and tender and juicy "Red Shrimp and Turnip Carpaccio," among other Spanish dishes. The drink menu features around 70 selections, including vibrant sangria made with cava, white wine, and red wine, as well as a range of fine Spanish wines. The interior uses blue hues reminiscent of the seaside location of the original store and includes marble tables.

Starting with:
Citrus-marinated olives from Spain 🫒
These were refreshing with a balanced saltiness and very tasty.

Iberico Ham and Airbag 🐷
We smashed it with a hammer to eat it 🔨
The crust was crispy, and the ham was rich and incredibly tasty! 🐷

Three types of tapas:
Fresh Mushroom Salad 🍄
It was generously topped with cheese 🧀
The mushroom had a wonderful aroma, paired beautifully with the cheese, and the light dressing complemented it perfectly.

Marinated trout salmon and micro celery 🐟
The rich salmon paired well with the light dressing, and the micro celery was also refreshing and delicious! ✨

Octopus Spanish Potato Salad 🐙
This potato salad had a strong flavor of octopus, which was a delightful and unique experience! 🐙
I enjoyed it on a baguette, giving it a crispy texture! 🥖

Warm dishes:
Patatas Bravas - fried potatoes 🍟
Served with bravas sauce and aioli.
The bravas sauce was spicy 🔥
The aioli was rich ✨
The potatoes themselves were sweet, and both sauces were delicious; mixing the two was also tasty! 🥔

Ajillo
Sweet shrimp ajillo 🦐
This was ajillo with sweet shrimp that you could eat with the shells! 🦐
The oil was rich, and the flavor of the sweet shrimp was prominent; it was incredibly delicious! 🦐
It paired perfectly with the baguette, making it so enjoyable! 🥖

It was abundant with ingredients and looked luxurious right from the start! 🥰
The broth soaked into the rice, making it crispy and rich in flavor—absolutely delicious! 🥰
Both the meat and seafood had soaked up the flavor beautifully! 🐟🐔🐷
There were plenty of mushrooms, and the herbs added great flavor—so tasty! 🍄
Adding lemon made it refreshing and delicious too! 🍋

Dessert:
Basque-style cheesecake 🧀
It was a rich cheesecake that was delightful! 🧀

The tea leaves had a great flavor, and it was really delicious! 🫖

I visited on a weekday, and though it was quite crowded, I completely understood why—everything was absolutely delicious! 🥰

Especially, the paella was too good, and I can't wait to have it again! 🥘
