Thank you, Fooday 🥳 for inspiring me to try more different foods 🍽
🚩 Location 🧭
Located at the intersection of Wuqing 7th Street and Wuqing West 3rd Street in the West District of Taichung City, it's a very charming old shop.

🪑 About the overall atmosphere 🎡
From the outside, you can see a lot of Chinese style. This restaurant specializes in Beijing and Shanghai cuisine and has won the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for many years. After passing through a small archway at the entrance, you will walk through a small garden to reach the counter. The tables and chairs inside look quite old; the female staff wear qipaos, and the minimum consumption for a private room is 6000 TWD. The lantern-shaped lights above each table are very interesting.

💰 Prices and dishes 🍴 (if price is missing, it's because I forgot)

Smoked Cherry Duck Breast $360
The duck is laid over vegetables; the meat is slightly dry, which is normal for duck, but it has a fresh and tender taste, living up to its name of cherry duck.

Fujian Fried Noodles $300
Accompanied by a lot of bean sprouts and green onions, there are also two shrimp inside. Strong-flavored foodies will likely enjoy this, but I found it a bit salty, and I couldn’t really taste the noodles.

Saliva Chicken $320
It has a bit of cartilage, but generally has no bones; the meat is super tender and delicious, topped with a simple sauce and minced garlic for added flavor.

Sauce Braised Eggplant $280
A very home-style dish, the sauce flavor is completely absorbed by the eggplant, making it perfect for rice.

Sauce Exploded Walnut Chicken
The outer skin has a slightly sweet and sour coating, paired with bell peppers and peas; the meat is also very tender and tasty.

Soup Dumplings
Juicy, plump, and piping hot, with thin skin and just the right amount of filling; every bite is a burst of juice.

Flavored Smoked Squid $300
The staff spoke so quietly when serving this dish that nobody noticed what it was; it tasted quite similar to abalone, and I later found out it was squid.

Vegetable Hat $320
Dried tofu, bean sprouts, and shredded wood ear mushrooms stir-fried and wrapped with a pancake; this is a genuine Beijing dish. Eating it wrapped in pancake was delicious, but eating it directly seemed a bit salty.

Northeast Sour White Pot (Large) $690
The pot has quite a lot of ingredients, and the meat is fresh and tender; it also contains a few shrimp. A classic dish that you must order when having Beijing cuisine.

Crab Roe Tofu
Fried with some crab roe and tofu, it has a sandy texture; perfect as an appetizer.

Scallion Pancake
Quite different from Taiwan's scallion pancakes, this one is very thick and has a lot of filling. I've never had such a thick scallion pancake; however, I didn’t like it much because I’m not used to it.

Fried Silver Thread Roll
Served with sweetened condensed milk on the side, both adults and children love it.

Dayuanzi Guava Lemon
Super tasty, it’s not like those artificially flavored guava juices; it’s real guava juice paired with lemon, which is very refreshing.

Dayuanzi Four Seasons Spring Oolong
The tea leaves occupy almost half of the bottle, and it tastes super strong; it’s refreshing and delicious.

🤨 Conclusion ♥
Even before 11:30, many people are already waiting at the door to go in. It’s a great restaurant for gatherings with family and friends; the menu is extensive that sometimes it’s hard to decide what to order. If you want to keep it simple, you can choose fixed portions of set meals.
