This "Korean House Incheon," hidden in the alleys near Daxing Street in the North District of Tainan, specializes in Korean home-style cuisine. The environment isn't large, but the atmosphere is nice, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. I find their Chuncheon stir-fried chicken really delicious; the sauce is expertly crafted, with a balanced salty-sweet taste and a mild spiciness that won’t leave your mouth burning, yet it has a lovely aroma. It's the kind of flavor that lingers pleasantly after you eat.
However, the drawbacks are quite obvious: the portions are really a bit small. It’s not that there’s absolutely no ingredients, but rather you get the feeling that they are thinly laid out, making the bottom of the pot completely visible. So basically, if you come here to eat Chuncheon stir-fried chicken, you definitely need to add some instant noodles or rice, otherwise, you won’t feel full.
When I was younger, I used to think that the portion sizes were not filling and that the prices weren't cheap, so the overall value wasn't high.
But after a recent visit, I’ve changed my perspective. Maybe it's because I've gotten older and am no longer in the phase of eating to get full, I now find the portion sizes just right; they don’t make you feel overly stuffed or burdened, and the taste is truly above average. It’s the kind of delicate small pot cuisine where you enjoy both the atmosphere and the flavors.
To sum up, if you’re looking for a filling meal, this place might not be for you, but if you want to enjoy some comfortable and tasty Korean small dishes, I think this place is quite suitable. Just remember to add some instant noodles or rice.
