B line by A train, located in a hidden alley near the MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, is an Italian cuisine tavern filled with quality. The decor inside has an urban touch, and the overall experience is quite satisfying.
Appetizer: American Vegetable Truffle Omelette
As soon as it arrived at the table, its fluffy appearance caught my attention, resembling a cute cloud visually. Upon cutting it open, I found that it was richly filled with a variety of vegetables, making it colorful and vibrant. The aroma of truffle was noticeable but not overpowering, perfectly blending with the egg flavor. The texture was tender, slightly moist, and very enjoyable.
Pan-Seared Scallop Cream Risotto with Sea Urchin Sauce
This was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. The risotto was cooked to perfection—the rice remained slightly firm at the center, which is exactly how Italian risotto should be; it wasn’t mushy. The cream sauce was rich and smooth, and after merging with the sea urchin sauce, it added a hint of sweet umami from the sea without any fishy taste, making it a successful balance. The scallops were seared to a crispy exterior while remaining tender inside, bursting with freshness. This dish not only had a rich flavor but was also exquisitely plated, making it a classic main dish that one would want to revisit and order again.
Tomato Pan-Seared Steak Pasta
The steak was quite tender, cooked to the right doneness, and the accompanying tomato sauce was rich with a balanced sweet and sour flavor, also suitable for those who are not fond of heavy creaminess. The pasta had a nice chewy texture and did a good job of absorbing the sauce. However, compared to the stunning risotto, this dish felt a bit less distinctive. If you are visiting for the first time, I would recommend starting with the risotto series instead.
Overall, B line by A train is a dedicated establishment. Although there is a minimum charge of 600 TWD per person, in terms of the quality of the dishes, the freshness of the ingredients, and the delicacy of the flavors, it demonstrates the chef's high standards. Both the omelette and the risotto had impressive performances, especially the pan-seared scallop cream risotto, which is a signature flavor that should not be missed. If you are looking for a unique restaurant worth trying near the MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, this small shop would be a satisfying choice. It is advised to make a reservation in advance or arrive early to avoid missing out on the delicious offerings!
