Location: Keelung City
Today I came to Keelung with colleagues to eat and drink. A local colleague recommended this Japanese restaurant on the second floor of the Ren'ai Market. Since Keelung is right by the sea, there is very fresh seafood at the fishing port, so there's no doubt about the freshness of seafood in Keelung.
🌟 Seared Salmon Sushi
My favorite type of sushi is definitely the seared kind. The salmon is very fresh, and the pairing with vinegared rice is quite delicious. Plus, the grilling adds warmth, reducing the coldness of the sashimi, which makes it perfect for eating in winter as it doesn’t feel especially cold.
🌟 Garlic Clam Soup
This is my number one favorite today. The broth is rich with garlic flavor. I personally enjoy garlic quite a bit, and in this cold weather, there are many cold Japanese dishes, so I feel that having a warm bowl of soup in winter really enhances the deliciousness of all the meals. The clams are very plump and abundant, clearly indicating that they are fresh seafood. I highly recommend it! 💪
Since there were a lot of us at this gathering, we ordered a variety of unique dishes. I feel like many of these are things I wouldn’t normally order when I go for Japanese cuisine myself, but there are some that I was indeed curious about. For instance, the fried pork cutlet was quite average; it's better to eat pork cutlets at a specialized restaurant.
