Title: "Mixed Student - What to Eat"
Today, I visited a Hainanese chicken rice restaurant near Dadaocheng (close to Carrefour).
Meal:
Hainanese Chicken Rice (Fake Chicken) (Small) $140
Thoughts:
Differences between Fake Chicken and Corn Chicken:
I brought a friend who just returned from Ho Chi Minh City. My friend said their rice noodles were quite good; they seem to be handmade (because the texture and width of each noodle are different). The broth is also quite good.
The Hainanese chicken rice here does not taste like the one from Qingcheng. The flavor of Vietnamese Hainanese chicken rice is generally less sweet.
Once you taste it, you can tell the difference. Personally, I prefer the flavor from Qingcheng. However, the soup served with this Hainanese chicken rice is lotus root soup (quite cool and rare). This portion size is so filling that even guys feel very full! Girls can ask the restaurant for a smaller portion of rice.
Waiting Time:
5 minutes.
