"I thought about it and this empty plate best represents my feelings."
🏠 Environment
This corner shop has a bright retro decor style, featuring many band-inspired decorations. It has seating for about eight to ten people, and the owner, who handles everything from greeting to cooking to cashing out, is both handsome and strong.
🍽️ Food
The selection at this small shop isn’t vast, but I really appreciate the owner’s dedication. There are just three main dishes of pork, chicken, and beef, along with one soup. I’ve visited countless times; if my wallet and stomach were bigger, I would want to order both the chicken and beef!
A-Hong Set Meal - This features traditional thin-crust fried chicken thigh meat paired with a ginger and sesame oil sauce, along with refreshing vegetables. I highly recommend adding 50 TWD for extra meat; it's incredibly satisfying and could easily go with two bowls of rice.
Rich Beef Rice - This is a Western-style beef rice dish with a relatively strong seasoning. The first bite has a super rich, sweet sauce flavor with a hint of butter, and it comes with a small piece of crusty baguette that you can use to dip into the sauce. The sliced beef short ribs in the sauce are perfectly tender and flavorful. Breaking open the runny egg on top and combining it with the pickled vegetables, regular vegetables, and corn is incredibly soothing for both mind and body!
Also, all of the dishes mentioned above can be served with free extra rice. The owner’s soul-soothing white rice is super delicious, and in the winter, I recommend adding some light chicken soup to share, which is also fantastic.
