Fude Cold Noodles Yanji Shop is located on Yanji Street, a bit of a distance from the MRT National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The main shop on Xing'an Street is praised as the best cold noodle shop in Taipei, though of course, evaluations can vary from person to person.
Today, I enjoyed the miso hot noodle soup, priced at NT$120.
Miso Hot Noodle Soup:
Although it is a cold noodle specialty shop, with the arrival of winter, the store has also introduced a winter limited edition of miso hot noodle soup.
The miso broth is rich and flavorful; it's essentially a variation of the store's miso soup, with meatballs, seaweed, and a soft egg in the noodles.
The meatballs are quite chewy, and while the seaweed may initially seem subtle, the aroma of the seaweed surprisingly complements the Japanese-style miso.
The egg is soft-boiled, with a semi-jelly-like runny yolk, which is definitely a treat for those who enjoy it.
The noodles are made from the shop's specially prepared cold noodle dough, with a firm and springy texture, and they blend perfectly with the miso broth.
Overall, this is a well-known cold noodle shop's first branch that maintains steady quality and taste.
I haven't passed by the main shop for a while, so I'm not sure if they also offer winter limited items.
The main shop is open 24 hours, while this branch on Yanji Street has closing hours.
I recommend it to everyone.
