This ice shop located on Yongda Road is noteworthy for being open late, so even at night, when you want to eat ice, you can find this place. Although when I entered the shop, I saw the owner smoking a cigarette, my first impression wasn't very good. How can someone who runs an ice shop smoke a cigarette?
However, smoking aside, the owner was very warm and welcoming. After I placed my order, I saw the owner’s wife come out to grab a block of ice and start shaving it. Luckily, it wasn't the smoking owner who got the ice for me; otherwise, I might have decided not to buy anything.
This time, I ordered a simple dish: milk shaved ice, which should be similar to snowflake ice. It really does have a fine texture. The base itself is sweet, so there was no need for additional syrup. At the end, the owner would sprinkle some chocolate chips on top. Some people like it, and others don’t; my wife really dislikes those chocolate chips, while I think they’re okay.
Overall, today’s experience didn’t have any major issues. In terms of hygiene, it looked decent, especially if you exclude the smoking part. If I suddenly wanted ice on a certain night, I would still consider coming back.
