A noodle shop that I often pass by always seemed unassuming from the outside, so I never considered stepping in. However, I saw someone highly recommend it on Instagram, claiming it has the best dry noodles and blanched vegetables in the Minsheng community, so I decided to give it a try.
Two of us ordered a large bowl of dry noodles, blanched vegetables, wonton soup, and assorted braised snacks. The dry noodles were mixed with lard and soy sauce, with a noticeable oyster sauce flavor! The noodles were delicious and had a homely taste. The large portion was truly overwhelming, so I tried it with chili oil, which was quite ordinary.
The blanched vegetables were cleaned thoroughly! There were not many stems, and they were easy to eat, with seasoning that I'd describe as homely as well.
For the braised snacks, we ordered pork head skin, cucumber, seaweed, and dried tofu. The dried tofu was tasty, well-braised, and not overly salty; the seaweed was extremely salty; the cucumber was sweet and refreshing; and the pork head skin belonged to the chewy variety, which was also not bad.
There's not much to say about the wonton soup.
