🚩 Taipei East District Popular Korean-Style Rice Rolls
Mr. Rice Roll is located in the East District of Taipei City, with the nearest MRT station being Exit 3 of Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, about a 4-minute walk away. The store isn't big and is almost undecorated, with only a few small paintings hanging on the walls, and about 14 seats for dine-in.
Ordering is done verbally at the counter, with payment required before dining. Only cash is accepted, with no other payment options available.
While waiting for the food, it was observed that the store had a lot of take-out orders. The staff were constantly handling take-out, passing the orders to delivery people, and the tablet for taking orders kept ringing.
Today we didn't order rice rolls; instead, we ordered the following:
Spicy Tofu Soup + White Rice $180
The base of the soup was quite heavily flavored, with tofu, egg, shredded carrot, green onions, onion, and mushrooms inside. Personally, I don't like spicy soup bases, so I won't comment on the taste, but for the price, I wasn't satisfied with the quantity of the ingredients (no meat slices, just a little bit of minced meat 😰).
Seaweed Instant Noodles $120
The soup base was rich, and the taste was not bad, but the ingredients only included instant noodles, egg, seaweed, and sesame seeds, making it feel quite plain. I think adding a few meat slices and vegetables for an extra 20 NT dollars would be better, so it wouldn't feel so bare.
Overall, the taste was okay, but as mentioned earlier, the store had a lot of take-out orders, and we waited 20 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering, which did not enhance the dining experience. We probably won't visit again.
