I went to a delicious yakitori restaurant near Kamishinjo Station 🐔.
The place is called Showa-ya, located right next to Kamishinjo Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line 🚃.
I arrived around 6 PM, and the restaurant was quite crowded with many customers✨.
There are counter seats, table seats, tatami mats, and second-floor seating✨.
The drinks I chose were:
Mango sour with soda🥭 - 429 yen
Draft beer🍺 - 528 yen
Oolong tea🐦⬛ - 418 yen
Nose ginger ale🫚 - 418 yen
I thought the drinks were reasonably priced, especially the Nose ginger ale at just 418 yen🫚.
Here’s what I ordered:
Assorted sashimi (5 kinds)🐔 - 1408 yen
Special potato salad🥔 - 539 yen
Rare chicken breast tempura🐔 - 759 yen
Handmade tsukune with cheese🧀 - 380✖️2 yen
Salted chicken neck🧂 - 308 yen✖️2
Salted skin🧂 - 209 yen✖️2

Salted bonjiri (tail)🧂 - 220 yen✖️2
Showa-ya’s proud oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl)🐔🥚 - 825 yen

For the assorted sashimi🐔,
there were condiments, and I also had soy sauce and ponzu✨.
Zuri (chicken gizzard)🐔
was crunchy and delicious🐔.
Hatsu (chicken heart)🐔
was chewy and really tasty🐔.
Sasami (chicken breast)🐔
was tender and had a nice texture🐔.
Mune (chicken breast)🐔
was fluffy, soft, and very tasty🐔.
Momo (thigh)🐔
had crispy skin and juicy meat which was delicious🐔.
It was fresh chicken with no odor, and everything was delicious🐔.
I enjoyed the condiments, soy sauce, and ponzu, and everything was tasty🐔.
For the special potato salad🥔,
a soft boiled egg was placed on top of the cylindrical potato salad, which I broke and mixed in.
The potato itself was mild in flavor, and when eaten with the creamy yolk and mayonnaise, it was really delicious🥰.
For the rare chicken breast tempura🐔,
the sasami was wrapped in perilla leaves and deep-fried.
It was super fluffy and delicious, with a nice perilla flavor.
The salt, soy sauce, and mayonnaise were also tasty.
For the handmade tsukune with cheese🧀,
a large tsukune was topped with cheese and grilled.
The tsukune was soft, and the cheese was rich, smoky, and matched perfectly with the sauce🐔🧀.
For the salted chicken neck🐔🧂,
it was a large piece that was aromatic and juicy, and very tasty🐔.
For the salted skin🧂,
the surface was crispy, while the inside was soft and rich, and it was delicious🐔.
For the salted chicken wings🧂,
they removed the bones, making them easy to eat🐔.
The skin was crisp, and the meat was juicy and delicious🐔.
For the salted bonjiri (tail)🐔🧂,
it was plump, juicy, aromatic, and delicious🐔.
Although it may not be obvious in the photos, each skewer was large, satisfying, reasonably priced, and very delicious🐔.
For Showa-ya’s proud oyakodon🐔🥚,
I also had pickled vegetables.
It had fluffy egg over chicken and egg yolk🥚🐔.
I broke the egg yolk to eat🥚.
The broth was well-absorbed,
the egg was fluffy and combined with the yolk for richness,
the chicken was tender and juicy,
and the onion was crunchy and incredibly delicious🐔.
For the Showa pudding🍮,
it was a rich pudding topped with plenty of caramel🍮.
It was so delicious that I would want to take some home if they sold it; it was really to my taste and incredibly good🍮.
Customers kept arriving, and some folks without reservations couldn’t get in, so I would recommend making a reservation‼️
It was that popular and a tasty restaurant🥰.
There were still menu items that caught my interest, so I definitely want to go back🥰.
