Although Liu Shan Men claims to be a hundred-yuan hot pot, the actual price ranges from about 200 to 400 yuan. It's hard to go below this price unless you order the simplest hot pot set. Overall, its positioning is roughly between San Ma Chou Chou Hot Pot and Ba Fang Yuan.
First, talking about the hot pot itself, it is recommended to order their vegetable hot pot and add your preferred meat, because a large part of the ingredients in the vegetable hot pot are round foods, such as leafy greens and mushrooms. In a regular hot pot, about 1/3 of the vegetable platter consists of hot pot ingredients, which gives a more artificial and low-quality feel. The meat is average in quality, neither particularly good nor bad; it's a moderate choice.
However, an interesting aspect of Taitung is that almost every larger restaurant or chain restaurant will definitely have a self-service bar. But the quality of the self-service bar can vary greatly; some people want to eat a lot of different items, while others prefer to focus on enjoying their own meals. For me, if the self-service bar isn't tasty and just has a lot of drink machines, I would rather the restaurant put more effort into their own products rather than having unnecessary extravagant expenditures. To a certain extent, Liu Shan Men falls into this category.
