Located near Zhongshan MRT Station, Pinglin Hand is a place I often visit, especially the store on Wuxing Street. This time, I tried the Zhongshan store again, and the overall quality and flavor remained consistent. For enthusiasts who enjoy drinks with a pronounced tea flavor and prominent aroma, Pinglin Hand is still one of the reliable brands. 🌱
Osmanthus Oolong
This cup takes a light and fragrant approach, with a subtle osmanthus aroma that is delicate and unassuming. The oolong tea has a slightly astringent flavor, with a mild astringency in the aftertaste; those who prefer a smoother taste may find it a bit harsh. However, overall, the combination of osmanthus and oolong is harmonious, suitable for those who enjoy a traditional oolong base with a hint of floral notes. But if you are expecting a strong and rich osmanthus aroma, this cup may fall short.
Earl Grey Latte
This was quite impressive. The bergamot aroma from the tea base is very distinct and elegant, delivering a rich tea flavor that offers no bitterness, and when paired with milk, the fragrance becomes even rounder with great depth. The milk completely masks any astringency from the tea base, leaving just aroma and thickness, making it smooth and satisfying to drink. For me, this cup can be considered one of the strengths of Pinglin Hand, as it pairs well with snacks or can be enjoyed on its own.
Pinglin Hand at the Zhongshan store continues to maintain a stable level of quality. If I had to choose between the two cups, I would not hesitate to recommend the Earl Grey Latte; its aroma is outstanding, the tea-to-milk ratio is perfect, and it has noticeable layers that make it enjoyable to drink. While the Osmanthus Oolong is refreshing, the astringent notes in the tea base are slightly stronger.
