I saw this shop while wandering around Hakata Station. I remembered that I had bought the famous small croissant shop "il FORNO del Mignon" located in Hakata Station two days ago, so I decided to buy it and try it out, and compare the two. Home store~
Different from the mini version of croissant at il FORNO del Mignon, which can be eaten in two bites, the croissant at Mikazukiya is full of normal size.
I bought an original one for ¥284 and a black tea one for ¥308. The texture is indeed different from the freshly baked one. The bite is a little tougher and requires a little tugging, but the inside remains soft and the taste is good.
The original flavor has just the right sweetness, but I think the black tea is a little too sweet.
I also bought sugar-flavored croissant cookies for ¥330, which came with 5 pieces. The clerk also gave away natural salt and cinnamon-flavored ones, which have a very crispy texture, much like the bread crisps you would put in corn chowder or Caesar salad. , the sugar flavored one is the best! The other two flavors are fine to me~
Overall, if you want to eat croissants, Mikazukiya is good to buy a few flavors to try, but if you care about freshly baked and hot croissants, I still recommend il FORNO del Mignon, which requires a queue.
