The lamb and angelica soup has a light herbal broth, with a decent portion of lamb, though the flavor is average, and the dipping sauce is delicious. The fried stinky tofu is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a unique texture. The spicy stinky tofu has a moderate heat level, while the satay lamb stir-fried noodles are savory and rich. The braised pork rice has a high ratio of fatty meat and a strong aroma.
The restaurant environment is spacious and comfortable, with a steady flow of people during late-night hours. It retains the nostalgic features of local snacks from Yilan, making it a delightful experience.
The boss lady is kind and friendly, and the service is attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
User review: It seems like I didn't see the restroom.
Yilan's Yang Tofu is famous for its lamb and stinky tofu dishes, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The meals I tried this time are as follows:
Angelica Lamb Soup (85 NTD): A light herbal broth complemented by substantial portions of lamb; the lamb was okay, but the dipping sauce was quite tasty.
Spicy Stinky Tofu (110 NTD): Moderate spice level that isn't overpowering, rich in flavor, and on the heavier side.
Fried Stinky Tofu (60 NTD): Crispy on the outside but not dry, the inside is soft with a slightly creamy texture, different from the usual; best eaten on-site, as takeout can lose its crispiness.
Satay Lamb Fried Noodles (100 NTD): Rich satay flavor, salty and fragrant, layered in complexity, suitable for those who enjoy strong flavors.
Braised Pork Rice (Large) (40 NTD): High fat content, strong aroma, generous portion, a must-try for those who enjoy a greasy texture.
The shop has been visited since its days as a small stall, and now it has a spacious and comfortable environment. It gets crowded during late-night hours, the owner is very friendly, and payments are done inside, where there is also a big dog. Yang Tofu preserves the nostalgic character of Yilan's local snacks, making it worthwhile for both regulars and tourists to visit. Parking is quite convenient too.
P.S. I forgot to take food photos; I’ll remember to do it next time! 😅

This restaurant is located on Jiucheng North Road, Yilan City, a food concentration camp.
There are so many delicious food in this area of Old City North Road
The Yang Tao is something that my family has eaten before and is highly recommended.
I have eaten at several restaurants in a row today
But I still insist on coming to eat sheep pottery and want to see the style.
Business in the store is very good
Arrived not long after we opened
For inside use, luckily there is still an empty table.
Not long after eating, there was already a queue outside.
Fortunately, I came early
We ordered angelica mutton slices soup and fried stinky tofu
Angelica soup is very sweet
The smell of medicinal food keeps coming to your nostrils
It tastes gentle and not hot when you drink it.
The mutton slices are generous
The meat is thinly sliced with a little bit of fat.
No hard-to-bite tendons
You can dip it in some of the store’s dipping sauce
It’s not the same as the soy milk sauce usually given in mutton stoves.
His sauce can better highlight the aroma of mutton
Overall it matches well
Even though the stinky tofu looks inconspicuous when served,
Different from the crispy stinky tofu that is golden in appearance
But it’s really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside
The inside of tofu has a dense texture
I rarely eat this kind of stinky tofu, I like it very much
This stinky tofu is highly praised by everyone.
Overall the dining experience was very good
The clerk is very enthusiastic
Meals are great too
Moderate price
Recommended to foodies visiting the area
You must try it
