This store offers a wide variety of cookies with special flavors. The tea-flavored cookies, such as Assam black tea and Earl Grey latte, have a rich tea aroma, while the double cocoa cookies have a strong chocolate flavor. Matcha lovers can opt for the Koishigawa premium matcha, which has a moderate sweetness. Overall, the cookie flavors are unique and memorable.
Since 2019, I have been eating their cookies, starting from their official website, pop-up stores, to now having a store at Zhongshan MRT Station! Basically, I have tried all their products, below are the frequently eaten items, mainly available for sale on-site (some products are only available on the official website).
🍪 Dark Cocoa Cookie
Opening it, you'll be shocked by the intense black color. The chocolate has a grown-up taste, with very low sweetness but extremely rich flavor, so intense that it’s suitable with a cup of tea. It’s incredibly aromatic, making it hard to resist eating one bite after another.
🍪 Shizuoka Matcha Cookie
This Shizuoka matcha has a higher sweetness than the chocolate. The matcha flavor is very strong, with a heavy tea aroma. It’s not bitter and goes down smoothly, but it doesn't quite taste like the usual matcha you drink; however, it’s definitely acceptable for matcha lovers.
🍪 Assam Milk Tea Latte Cookie
After finishing this cookie, you really feel like you’ve had milk tea. The texture gives a sort of illusion of eating tea leaves. The author prefers the tea flavor over the milk flavor in milk tea, so this product has a stronger tea flavor, and it’s less sweet than lightly sweetened versions, yet it still maintains its richness.
🍪 Tieguanyin Cookie
This is also a frequently repurchased item. The Tieguanyin flavor is smoother compared to Assam, which has some tea residue. The textures of the two are quite different, and surprisingly, there is a noticeable difference when comparing the two for the first time, but both have a strong tea flavor!
🍪 Earl Grey Milk Tea Latte Cookie
I previously wasn't fond of Earl Grey, but their Earl Grey doesn’t have a terrible artificial flavor (maybe because I dislike bergamot). It has more of a tea aroma, which I highly recommend trying for Earl Grey lovers (my friends love it).
🍪 Kotobuki Heavy Matcha Cookie
Overall, this has a significantly lower sweetness compared to the previous Shizuoka matcha cookie. The aroma isn’t very prominent, but once you place it in your mouth, you can still feel its richness. It’s bitter but not astringent; if I were to repurchase matcha, I would choose this one! The sweetness ranking is Shizuoka > Cocoa > Heavy Matcha, showing quite a difference in sweetness compared to Shizuoka.
🍪 Honey Aroma Black Tea Cookie
This one grows on you the more you eat, and I think the tea varieties by Guwa are quite special. They are all rich without strange flavors, low in sweetness and not astringent. Honestly, I've forgotten how this one differs from the previous Assam (goldfish brain), but I have purchased this one again, finding its tea flavor very fragrant; anyone who loves black tea will adore it!
🍪 Original Caramel Butter Cookie
This original flavor retains the cookie's original aroma while adding caramel flavor, yet it doesn’t overpower the milk fragrance. It has a slightly higher sweetness than the first few options but isn’t overwhelmingly sweet, being conventional but still has a personal touch.
Their offerings also include wedding cakes, Goulani, filled cookies, and snowflake cookie balls. Additionally, they sell frozen treats in convenience stores and supermarkets; their pineapple cake this Mid-Autumn Festival is also fantastic 😍. In short, it’s my favorite store!
