The overall flavor of the dishes at this Korean restaurant is quite good. The Chuncheon spicy stir-fried chicken is moderately spicy, with tender meat. The Korean-style braised pork belly is well-prepared and not greasy, pairing nicely with lettuce. The seafood tofu stew has a rich broth, with plenty of tofu, making it suitable to pair with purple rice.
The staff was warmly welcoming, and the service was professional and attentive, making the ordering process easy and enjoyable. However, the fact that only cash payments are accepted might be a bit inconvenient.
This Korean restaurant actually has many branches, but this one near New Town is quite new. Sometimes during holidays, it can get pretty crowded, but it's usually not bad during weekdays! Upon entering the restaurant, you’re warmly welcomed by the staff, and you can feel that their pre-service training is quite good; everything is explained in great detail, and ordering is very easy!
Today we ordered:
❤️ Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken from Chuncheon
If you don’t usually eat spicy food, you might want to be careful. I usually can only handle a little bit of mild spice, but for me, this dish is moderately spicy. After a few bites, I needed something non-spicy to help balance it out, and sometimes I had to drink some water to ease the spiciness. However, the overall flavor is good, the meat is very tender and not tough at all, and the potatoes 🥔 are also well-seasoned. The portion size is decent; overall, I highly recommend it!
❤️ Korean BBQ Pork Belly
I personally really like the pork belly part. I was initially worried that it would be too greasy because it's fatty, but to my surprise, they handled it very well. When paired with lettuce 🥬, it tastes great! The garlic 🧄 and sauce that come with it also match nicely, but unfortunately, there were only five small pieces of lettuce. If they could provide a bit more, that would be better!
❤️ Seafood Tofu Hot Pot
The seafood tofu hot pot has quite a lot of tofu, but there isn’t much variety in the seafood 🦞. The main highlight is the broth, which is quite good, and they even provide purple rice 🍚, which is perfect for us since we didn’t specifically order a main dish. The flavor is rich, so it pairs nicely with the rice!
Personally, I think everything was quite tasty, the service was also good, and the location is convenient. The only slight inconvenience is that you have to pay in cash, which is a bit troublesome since I’m used to being lazy and not carrying a wallet... but it doesn’t detract from the dining experience! If I get a chance to go to New Town again, I would definitely consider coming back to eat here!
