Dickson's nightlife bar series is back! #Asia's 50 Best Bars

The bar I'm introducing this time is very special and mysterious!
It has already won the honor of being one of Asia's top 50 bars just one year after opening!
However, you can't even find detailed information about this bar on Google Maps~~

So how special and mysterious is it?
Let's find out!

But before I start the introduction, I need to mention that the owner of this bar has quite a personality.
If you're planning to go, I recommend checking out the rules on their Instagram first.

The rules are neither too many nor too few,
but from their IG, you can tell it's quite a unique place.
They only serve various classic cocktails, so there are no fancy cocktails here.

Additionally, this bar does not offer reservation services,
and the opening hours vary each month,
so you must check the time beforehand.

Even before opening, there will already be many people waiting outside,
so it's best to arrive before they open!

Also, since the space inside is not very large,
the seating is limited, with only about a dozen spots.
If you’re not among the first to get in, you might have to wait a few extra hours. 🤣🤣🤣

The owner also uniquely mentioned on IG that they don't serve groups larger than four
and that you should pretend not to know each other,
showing their distinct personality through words!

Furthermore, the decorations and design inside also have a unique character,
both following a very retro style.
The food menu is posted on the wall.

Due to the small space, the seating is quite limited.
If two people sit at a small round table,
it will be quite crowded with drinks and food all on the table! 🤣🤣

The menu itself also has a distinctive style,
with not many food options available.
They mainly serve the following dishes.

If you want to order drinks, you can do so directly with the staff.
However, it’s best to think about what you want to drink beforehand,
as they only offer classic cocktails,
meaning they won’t elaborate much
and expect you to Google what classic cocktails are?!

And because there aren’t many staff members,
the owner is also the bartender,
so you might have to wait a bit for your food and drinks.

Overall, it's a very mysterious and special bar.
You can feel various rules and characteristics here.

⭐️ Food Section
👉 Hamburger Curry Rice $250
One of the main dishes here is the hamburger curry rice,
with a distinct and flavorful curry taste.
The hamburger patty is above average,
and while it isn’t particularly large,
it's quite filling.

👉 Clam Sauce Scallion Noodles $180
A refreshing scallion noodle dish!
If the spiciness isn’t enough,
the bar kindly provides chili for you to add yourself.
The noodles are large and flat, paired with loofah and clams,
making for a very refreshing dish!

👉 Sesame Century Egg Tofu $120
Although the name suggests it's just century egg tofu,
there are multiple types of tofu used,
using several types to create a combination of century egg and regular tofu.
The sesame sauce is delicious!

Overall, the food here has a lot of character.
Although it looks quite retro,
the flavors are not bad at all.

The variety of food isn’t extensive, but it pairs well with drinks, providing a multi-sensory delight!

⭐️ Drinks Section
👉 Classic Cocktails
Old Fashioned / Gin Tonic / Whisky Sour
Since this place only serves classic cocktails,
I ended up Googling what qualifies as classic cocktails with my companions 🤣🤣🤣
to see which flavors would suit our preferences.

I was actually curious if Long Island counts as a classic cocktail??
Because it seems it isn’t part of the classics here. 🤣🤣

It’s no wonder that the bartenders here, defined as one of Asia’s top 50 bars,
are quite skilled in classic cocktail crafting.
The flavors are incredibly rich!

If you truly love a variety of classic cocktails,
I believe you shouldn't miss this bar.
The bartender’s skill is quite profound,
and it's definitely a place specializing in crafted cocktails!

⭐️ Atmosphere Section
From the outside, the bar has a very low-key style.
The sign outside is quite inconspicuous,
with only a small unbranded sign at the entrance.
Even the door leading into the bar is very understated.

Once you push open the door, though, the interior space isn’t very big,
with a very distinct decor style.
The corridor is also quite narrow,
about enough for one person to walk through.
On the side of the corridor are several small tables,
each round table seats about two to three people.

However, the size of the round tables is quite small,
so you may feel a bit cramped sitting at the round table area!

The bar area is similar to that of any other bar,
and the overall atmosphere is quite nice.

Although I mentioned the many rules,
during drinking and eating,
they don’t have a rule against being too loud or anything else.

⭐️ Service Section
The bar doesn’t have any special services,
and as mentioned before,
due to many rules,
including the lack of reservation services,
you really have to wait in line outside to get in!

Regarding drink selection,
since they primarily offer classic cocktails,
the staff won’t elaborate much.
Many times they will expect you to do your own research or Google your drink preference
before placing your order.

If you are not familiar with classic cocktails,
you might feel a bit awkward!

⭐️ Price Section
The food prices here are quite reasonable.
Though the portion sizes aren’t large,
the prices are affordable.

Additionally, the cocktail prices are at an average level for the eastern district of Taipei,
so I feel there’s nothing particularly noteworthy about the pricing.

⭐️ Location Section
The bar is located near the intersection of Guangfu South Road and Ren'ai Road.
The nearest metro station is a bit of a walk away,
and if you take the bus, you’ll also need to walk a bit to reach it.

So the transportation isn’t very convenient,
but I believe the bar isn’t exactly targeting those conditions
as it feels like true enthusiasts would go out of their way to get here!
Therefore, I think the location is not a major concern.

⭐️ Overall
This newly shortlisted Asian top 50 bar
is truly special and mysterious.
I already knew about the many rules before going,
and while there are quite a few, I believe they’re quite reasonable.

Especially the classic cocktails from this bar are notably famous.
If you really love classic cocktails
and want to give it a try,
you must visit!

Apart from cocktails,
I think the bar snacks and food are also above average.
Drinking cocktails while enjoying snacks here,
overall presents a very enjoyable experience!

It is somewhat regrettable that the space inside is rather small.
If you sit at the small round tables for a long time,
it might get a bit uncomfortable,
but it’s okay in the bar area!

Before heading over, be sure to check the bar’s IG
to check the opening hours and some basic rules,
then be sure to arrive early to get in line! 🤣🤣🤣

When you want to show off your knowledge of classic cocktails,
you can take your date to this bar,
whose name and rules are quite distinctive.

I think many girls today don't really understand what classic cocktails are
and which drinks fall under that category.
After all, most bars offer a variety of colorful, sweet cocktails,
and after a while, they might not even know what they’re drinking.

This is when you can bring her to this bar
and tell her the owner can be strict,
