A renowned spicy Dan Dan noodles shop from a famous high-end Mizutaki hot pot restaurant in Hakata! Conveniently located for dining and shopping!

One of Hakata's local gourmet treats is the "Mizutaki Hot Pot," which is a chicken-broth based dish. "Toriden" is a reservation-only, high-end Mizutaki restaurant. Their Dan Dan noodles specialty shop uses their well-known whole chicken Mizutaki broth, adding sesame paste and a specially crafted chili mix with five types of peppers to create deeply flavorful Dan Dan noodles.

Each counter seat comes with a pot of genmai tea, which is quite tasty and refreshing. I can drink half a pot on my own.

This time, I ordered the basic noodles plus mentaiko and pickled cabbage rice. The standard spice level is quite hot, and I really like the unique rich and sticky texture of the chicken broth. Although it's very spicy, it also has a great aroma, and the flavor of the sesame paste is very comforting.

The mentaiko and pickled cabbage rice is a bit ordinary. Having eaten too many amazing mentaiko dishes in Hakata has spoiled me 😂. Unless you're very hungry and need a larger portion, or you really want to eat mentaiko, you don't need to order it.

Although they generally use a cash vending machine for ordering here, since it's located within a department store branch, you can also order verbally and pay by card or other methods.

It's in the bustling Tenjin Station area and very close to the subway entrance, making it incredibly convenient. Highly recommended for those like me who can't afford Mizutaki hot pot 😂.
