The spicy dipping noodles here have an elegant texture, and the sauce is thick, pairing with the chewy thick noodles to provide a very pleasant taste experience. The selection of ingredients for the dish is also very flexible, allowing customers to choose as they please. The overall taste is satisfying.
The staff were very friendly and efficient, quickly confirming orders and spice levels, making the dining process smooth. Although the restaurant was crowded, the table turnover was quite fast.
🍜Fukuoka Tenjin's famous spicy dipping noodles!
I found a noodle shop randomly on the map, and upon arrival, I realized it was a popular spot with a line. However, the turnover at the ramen shop is fast; we arrived around 6:30 PM and were seated in about 15 minutes.
This time, I had the "Ajitama Spicy Dipping Noodles" for 1,350 yen. Since I wasn't very hungry, I chose a smaller portion and was able to swap for a popular side of blanched vegetables! (You need to inform the staff verbally about the portion change.)
After ordering, the staff confirmed the spice level. I chose the normal level (marked with two chili pepper icons), and the staff warned me that it was quite spicy. In reality, I found it to be mildly spicy.
They emphasize “sauce you can eat.” The base made from a mix of pork, chicken, fish, and vegetables is really thick, so even the slippery, thick noodles, like those used for udon, can easily be coated with the sauce. The QQ texture of the noodles is truly a comfortable experience in the mouth!
Although the blanched vegetables were drizzled with a bit of meat juice, they had almost no flavor. However, next to the strong-flavored noodles, they were just perfect and provided a nice balance. It’s also a great way to enjoy vegetables in Japan, where they are relatively scarce!
