I went to a yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto that is known for its tasty meat 🐮

The restaurant is called Nagaokakyo Store, and it’s within walking distance from Nagaoka Tenjin Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and Nagaokakyo Station on the JR Kyoto Line 🚃

It's a yakiniku restaurant that sources its meat from a butcher 🐮

I quickly grilled it and wrapped it in plenty of green onions, and it was delicious 🐮
The tongue was tender and rich, and the green onions were Kyo Negi, which made it incredibly tasty 🐮
Thick-Cut Tongue 🐮
I also grilled this quickly and ate it with green onions 🐮
It was thick, richer, and absolutely delicious 🐮

The green onions served can be refilled, which many people seem to take advantage of 🥰
The flavor was so good that I understood why you’d want to ask for more! ✨

This is cut from the thigh.
It’s the part used for steak 🐮
I was informed that this cut is rare in yakiniku restaurants, and it felt like I was eating steak, which was so good! 😍
Wagyu Special Hiuchi 🐮
This is cut from near the thigh joint.
It was rich, abundantly fatty, incredibly soft, and delicious 😍
Wagyu Special Misuji 🐮
This is a shoulder cut.
I had it thinly sliced and quickly grilled 🐖
It was rich and tender, and when dipped in soy sauce, it tasted like sukiyaki 🐮

Beef Liver Shabu-Shabu Oil Boiled 🐮
I quickly dipped the liver in hot sesame oil
and ate it with sesame oil + salt 🧂
and ginger soy sauce 🫚
I cooked it to my preferred doneness 🔥
Even as someone who is not fond of liver, I found it incredibly delicious!!
The sesame oil was, of course, great, but the ginger soy sauce was fantastic too! ✨

Samgyeopsal 🐷 - 850
I grilled the cuts of Ryukyu Motobuta Agu Pork well, which are rich in fat.
I wrapped them in ssam lettuce 🥬
with green onions,
miso,
and fried garlic 🧄
It was delicious because the fat from the Agu pork was sweet and refreshing, different from beef ✨
Having such high-quality meat in samgyeopsal felt quite luxurious!!

Medium Rice 🍚 – 250.
It was larger than I expected for a medium size 🍚

Delicious Harami with Sauce 🐮 - 850
It was soft, rich, juicy, and delicious 🐮
especially pairing well with the soy sauce! 👌

Toro Techan with Salt 🧂 - 590
It was plentiful in fat, bouncy, and delicious.
The saltiness was rich and delightful, and it was also delicious with the miso sauce ✨

Morioka Cold Noodles 🍜 - 750
The noodles were made from potatoes 🥔
The chewy noodles had a different deliciousness compared to Korean cold noodles ✨
They were tasty on their own, and adding vinegar made them refreshing! ✨

Stone-Grilled Beef Tongue Rice 🐮🔥 - 880

It's a menu item you can only find here‼️
Tons of juicy beef tongue were placed on stone-grilled rice, which I mixed up to eat all at once‼️
The tongue was juicy, and the fat infused the rice,
The flavors of the sauce and green onions complemented it well, and it was incredibly delicious 🥰

Stone-Grilled Curry 🍛🔥 - 720
A steaming pot of curry rice topped with an egg 🥚 was served
I broke the egg and mixed it in to eat 🥚
The sweet curry combined with the egg made it so smooth and delicious 🍛
There was plenty of meat inside, tender and tasty 🐮

All the meats and dishes were high quality, but the prices were shockingly reasonable‼️

It’s a great place for both small groups and families, so it caters to a wide age range‼️

The menu is diverse, and I looked forward to coming back to eat again 🐮
